How we write here
- Be specific. The detail is what makes a story feel true. Say what happened, what it felt like, what you would do differently.
- Write the way you talk. We edit lightly and keep your voice.
- Your own work only. No copied stories, and only photos you took or have permission to use.
- Be kind, even when you disagree. Everyone here is at a different point in their journey.
What we protect
Privacy matters more here than almost anywhere.
- Pen names are welcome. We never publish your email or legal name.
- Never name, picture or out anyone without their permission — partners, friends, employers.
- Change the details that could identify someone: towns, workplaces, venues.
